Dr Tania Pietrzak

Dr Tania Pietrzak is a clinical psychologist and hypnotherapist working at Dandenong Digestive Health Centre on Thursdays. Tania has over 20 years of clinical experience specialising in the assessment and treatment of a full range of mental health problems. Her particular interest here at our centre involves treating digestive problems that have a psychosocial causes, including anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, somatic disorders, autism, ADHD, and conduct problems.

Tania specialises in working with children and also enjoys working with adults, families and couples, as she is a certified couple therapist (Gottman Method level 3).

Tania uses an eclectic approach in her work and has both national and  international expertise as a trainer in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy . Hypnotherapy is also used by Tania to treat anxiety and digestive problems and to improve self -esteem. Tania uses motivational interviewing to help you get ready for change.  A strengths based approach is used in her work, helping clients to uncover their values as resources in the change process.

Tania also holds a research position at La Trobe University as an Adjunct Research Fellow in the School of Psychology and is investigating interoceptive accuracy (the ability to perceive signals from your body) and the effects on emotional regulation and power posing in individuals with autism. Tania has also completed the ADOS training (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) for clinical and research use.

Medicare rebates are available for clients on a mental health care plan or chronic disease management plan. Tania also works with VOCAT, Veterans, TAC and Work Cover clients. Bulk billing available via negotiation for clients on a health care card. Tania is registered to provide psychological services under private health care.
